Problem

Root Cause

Multiple contributing factors: under-torquing the valve cover bolts (owner was afraid to torque to spec), missing RTV sealant at the front cam cover corners as specified by the TSRM, worn/soft bolt grommets, and OEM Phillips head bolts that lose tension over time.
