Fuel Door Won't Pop Open - Missing Hinge Spring Clip

Body/InteriorbeginnerOP Confirmed
Problem

Fuel door will not pop open when the interior release lever is pulled. The latch pin retracts correctly but the door does not spring open, causing the pin to slide back into the hole instead of catching the door edge to push it open.

Fuel door does not pop open when interior release lever is pulledLatch pin pulls in but door stays shutPin retracts and then slides back into the hole without pushing door openNeed a second person or tool to pry open fuel door
Root Cause

The stock spring clip located near the fuel door hinge is missing. This clip provides the outward spring force that pushes the fuel door open when the latch is released from inside the car. Without it, the door has no force to pop open on its own.
