Possible causes:
• Bad tape
• Dirty head
• Incorrectly installed speaker
• Vibration noise from around speaker
• Defective speaker
• Defective tape player

Does sound improve with another tape? → Yes → Tape bad

Clean head. Does sound improve? (See note for cleaning procedure.) → Yes → OK

Proceed to Test 2.
TEST 2
Is speaker correctly installed (loose or too tight)? → Yes → Does vibration sound come from around speaker? → No → Temporarily install another speaker. Okay? → Yes → Replace speaker.

Install correctly. If speaker Repair Replace tape player.

NOTE: Head cleaning procedure.
(1) Raise the cassette door with four finger. Next, using a pencil or like object, push in the guide.
(2) Using a cleaning pen or cotton applicator soaked in alcohol, clean the head surface, pinch rollers and capstans.
(3) Push in the eject button.
