Front Wiper Motor INSPECTION OF FRONT WIPER MOTOR 1. INSPECT THAT MOTOR OPERATES AT LOW SPEED (a) Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor. (b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2. Connect the negative (—) lead to the motor body. (c) Check that the motor operates at low speed. 2. INSPECT THAT MOTOR OPERATES AT HIGH SPEED (a) Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor. (b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1. Connect the negative (—) lead to the motor body. (c) Check that the motor operates at high speed. 3. INSPECT THAT MOTOR OPERATES, STOPPING AT RAISED POSITION (a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2. Connect the negative (—) lead to the motor body. (b) Operates the motor at low speed. (c) Stop the motor operation to disconnect the battery terminals except at the raised position. (d) Connect terminals 2 and 3. (e) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4. Connect the negative (—) lead to terminal 7. (f) Inspect that the motor stops running at raised position after the motor operate again. If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
