4. INSTALL CASE COVER BOLTS (a) Apply retaining compound to the bolts. NOTE: Use Lock-Tight as the retaining compound. NOTE: Method of applying Lock-Tight (1) Apply Lock-Tight Primer T to the case threads and the mounting bolts, and allow to dry thoroughly. (2) Apply Lock-Tight to the case threads and the bolts and install the bolts. (3) Allow to stand at least 3 hours after tightening the bolts. [In cold weather, heat to 30 — 50°C (86 — 122°F) before letting stand.] (b) Tighten the bolts evenly and gradually. Torque: 650 kg-cm (47 ft-lb, 64 N·m) 5. CHECK SIDE GEAR THRUST CLEARANCE Turn the side gear with side gear shaft or other means and check to see that they turn smoothly. 6.
