3. (7M-GTE)
INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF OXYGEN
SENSOR
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 2 and 3.
Resistance: 3.0 ~ 3.6 Ω
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
Sub-Oxygen Sensor
[7M-GE (California Vehicles only)]
INSPECTION OF SUB-OXYGEN SENSOR
1. INSPECT SUB-OXYGEN SENSOR
HINT: Inspect only when code No.27 is displayed.
(a) Diagnostic code cancellation. (See Page FI-25)
(b) Warm up the engine until it reaches normal operating
temperature.
(c) (M/T)
Drive for 5 minutes or more at less than 80 km/h (50
mph) in 4th or 5th gear.
(A/T)
Drive for 5 minutes or more at less than 80 km/h (50
mph) in "D" range.
(d) Following the conditions in step (c), press fully on the
accelerator pedal for 2 seconds or more.
(e) Stop the vehicle and turn the ignition switch to OFF.
(f) Carry out steps (b), (c) and (d) again to test acceleration.
If code No. 27 reappears again, check the sub-oxygen sensor circuit. If the circuit is normal, replace the sub-oxygen
sensor.
2. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF SUB-OXYGEN
SENSOR
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals +B and HT.
Resistance: 5.1 ~ 6.3 Ω
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
