PR-4 PROPELLER SHAFT — Propeller Shaft 3. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT FROM TRANSMISSION (a) Pull the yoke from the transmission. CAUTION: Insert SST in the transmission to prevent oil leakage. SST 09325-40010 (for A/T and R154 M/T) 09325-20010 (for W58 M/T) INSPECTION OF PROPELLER SHAFT 1. INSPECT PROPELLER AND INTERMEDIATE SHAFTS RUNOUT If shaft runout is greater than maximum, replace the shaft. Maximum runout: 0.8 mm (0.031 in.) 2. INSPECT SPIDER BEARINGS Check the spider bearing axial play by turning the yoke or flange while holding the shaft tightly. Bearing axial play: Less than 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) DISASSEMBLY OF PROPELLER SHAFT 1. SEPARATE PROPELLER SHAFT AND INTERMEDIATE SHAFT (a) Place the matchmarks on the both flanges. (b) Remove the four bolts, washers and nuts. 2. REMOVE CENTER SUPPORT BEARING FROM INTERMEDIATE SHAFT (a) Using a hammer and chisel, loosen the staked part of the nut.
