ON–VEHICLE
(a) Connect a tune–up test tachometer, and start the engine.
NOTICE: Reversing the connection of the tachometer
will damage the transistors and diodes inside.
(b) Compare the tester and tachometer indications.
If error is excessive, replace the tachometer.
